Veazie, Washington facts for kids
Veazie is a small place in the U.S. state of Washington. It's known as an "unincorporated community." This means it's a group of homes and businesses that don't have their own local government, like a city or town does. Instead, it's part of a larger area called King County.
A Look Back at Veazie's History
The community of Veazie was named after a person called Thomas Veazie. He was a businessperson who worked in the logging industry. Logging is when people cut down trees to use the wood for different things, like building homes or making paper.
A post office was opened in Veazie in 1890. This post office helped people send and receive letters and packages. However, it only stayed open for a short time, closing just two years later in 1892.
