Venchi is a famous Italian company that makes delicious gourmet chocolate. It was started by a chocolatier named Silviano Venchi in 1878 in a city called Turin, Italy. Venchi became well-known for its special Nougatine candies. These are small, tasty treats made from crushed, caramelized hazelnuts covered in rich dark chocolate.
Over the years, Venchi has grown a lot. They now have about 120 shops in more than 70 countries around the world. In 2006, they even started making their own ice cream!
How Venchi Makes Chocolate
Venchi uses high-quality ingredients to make its chocolates. The cocoa they use comes from farms in Central America, South America, and Africa. They also add special ingredients like rum from the Caribbean and natural vanilla.
The company also uses hazelnuts from the Piedmont region of Italy. These special hazelnuts help make sure the chocolate tastes smooth and not too sour.
Awards and Recognition
Venchi's delicious chocolates have won awards. In October 2004, their "Chocaviar" chocolate won the Vassoio d'Oro Award. This award was given at the EuroChocolate festival, which is a big chocolate event held in Perugia, Italy.
