EuroChocolate facts for kids
EuroChocolate is a super fun festival all about chocolate! It happens every year in a city called Perugia in central Italy. Imagine a whole city filled with the smell and taste of chocolate – that's EuroChocolate! It's one of the biggest chocolate parties in Europe, and almost a million people visit it each year. The festival lasts for nine days and takes over many main squares and streets in Perugia, like Piazza Italia and Piazza IV Novembre.

Famous Chocolate Brands
Many well-known chocolate companies join the festival. Italy's famous chocolate maker, Perugina, is always there. They are known for their delicious Baci chocolates. Other big brands like Lindt and Caffarel also take part. You can try chocolates from all over!
Yummy Treats and Souvenirs
At EuroChocolate, you can find all sorts of chocolate treats. Imagine bananas covered in chocolate, or special chocolate drinks called chocolate liqueur. You can also buy cool chocolate shapes and even big chocolate bricks! It's a great place to find unique gifts for friends and family.
Fun Activities and Art
The festival offers many exciting things to do. You can see amazing art made from chocolate. There are also special tastings where you can try different kinds of chocolate. Street performers entertain the crowds, and you can even watch artists sculpt huge blocks of chocolate into incredible shapes.
In recent years, a special igloo was built using 3,600 kilograms (7,900 lb) of chocolate bricks! That's like a small car made of chocolate. In 2003, the world's largest chocolate bar was created here. It was over 7 metres (23 ft) long and 2 metres (6 ft 7 in) tall. It used 5,980 kilograms (13,180 lb) of dark chocolate and thousands of hazelnuts.

EuroChocolate started in Perugia, but it has become so popular that it has spread to other Italian cities. Now, you can also find parts of the festival in places like Rome and Turin. This means even more people can enjoy the magic of chocolate!
