Vere Lucy Temple (born February 8, 1898, died March 14, 1980) was a talented British artist. She was famous for drawing and painting British wildlife. Vere was especially interested in entomology (the study of insects).

Vere Temple's Life and Art Journey
Vere Temple was born in a place called Boreham Manor in Wiltshire, England. Her parents were Grenville and Katherine Temple. From a very young age, Vere showed a special talent for art. Her mother even kept an album of her early drawings. The first drawing in this album was from December 1901. It showed that Vere had an amazing "eye" for detail, which later helped her become a great artist.
As she grew up, Vere's artwork became very popular. Starting in the 1920s, her paintings and drawings were shown in many important art galleries across the country. In 1932, a famous artist named Sir Cedric Morris even painted a portrait of Vere.
During her life, Vere lived in different places. In 1939, she had an apartment in London. By the 1940s, she was living in Tollard Royal, which is also in Wiltshire. Vere Temple passed away in 1980 in Ringwood, Hampshire.

Vere Temple's passion for insects was very strong. By 1947, she became a member of the Royal Entomological Society of London. This is a group for people who study insects. Her membership showed how serious and knowledgeable she was about entomology.
