Verona is a small, quiet place in Clay County, Nebraska, in the United States. It is known as an unincorporated community. This means it is a group of homes and buildings that is not officially a city or town with its own local government.
History
Verona got its name in 1884. It was named after the Veronica family, who were some of the first people to settle in the area.
A post office opened in Verona in 1887. This was a very important place for people to send and receive mail. The post office served the community for many years. However, it eventually closed down in 1954.
