Veryfine is a popular brand of juice drinks. It is currently owned by a company called Sunny Delight Beverages.
The story of Veryfine began a long time ago. It started as a company named Standard Vinegar Co. in Somerville, Massachusetts, in 1865.
The History of Veryfine Juice
How Veryfine Started
In 1900, a man named Arthur Rowse bought the company. He changed its name to New England Vinegar Works in 1907. Later, in 1930, he moved the company to Littleton, Massachusetts. This move helped them be closer to the apple orchards in Massachusetts.
In 1919, Arthur Rowse introduced the "Veryfine" brand name. This name was used for their special apple juice. This juice was pasteurized, meaning it was heated to kill germs and make it safe to drink. Arthur Rowse's family continued to own and run Veryfine for many years. They sold the company to Kraft Foods in 2004.
New Owners for Veryfine
On October 2, 2007, Kraft Foods announced a big change. They decided to sell some of Veryfine's brands. These included the Fruit2O water and juice brands. A company called Sunny Delight Beverages Co. bought them. This sale was completed by the end of 2007.
In 2015, Sunny Delight closed the Veryfine factory in Littleton. This ended 85 years of the company being in that town. However, the Veryfine brand still exists! The juice is now made at other Sunny Delight factories.
