History of the Amphitheater

This awesome amphitheater first opened its doors in 1996. Back then, it had 7,500 seats under a covered area and space for 12,500 more people on the lawn. Because it's so big, many famous music artists have performed here over the years.

The venue has had a few different names:

  • From 1996 to 2005, it was called GTE Virginia Beach Amphitheater.
  • Then, from 2005 to 2010, it was known as Verizon Wireless Amphitheater at Virginia Beach.
  • In March 2010, it dropped the company name and was simply called Virginia Beach Amphitheater.
  • In February 2011, it changed its name again to Farm Bureau Live at Virginia Beach.
  • Finally, in January 2016, it became what it's known as today: Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater at Virginia Beach.

The amphitheater has five parking lots right next to it. Usually, parking fees are included in your ticket price, which is super convenient! There are two main seating areas: a fixed seating area under a canopy and a large lawn area behind it. You can rent small lawn chairs if you have lawn tickets, or you can bring your own blankets to sit on.
