Vicente Romero Redondo was born in Madrid, Spain. He grew up in a family that loved art. From a young age, he was very interested in drawing and sketching at school. When he was 19, he started studying at the San Fernando Faculty of Fine Arts in Madrid. He finished his studies in sculpture in 1982.
For several years, he traveled around the Spanish coast and islands. He worked as a street artist, drawing portraits of people. During this time, he taught himself and improved his art skills. He eventually chose pastel as his favorite way to paint. In 1987, Romero Redondo settled in Calonge, a town on the Costa Brava. In February 2014, the official newsletter of the Pastel Society of Victoria, Australia, featured his work on its cover. They called him a "superb Spanish painter of beauty and light."
Romero Redondo has also been an active teacher. He has led art workshops in many cities around the world. He has shared that his paintings try to create "an illusion of surprise." He wants to show a "stolen moment of intimacy."
