Victor Roache, born on September 17, 1991, is a former American professional baseball player. He played as an outfielder. The Milwaukee Brewers chose him in the first round of the 2012 Major League Baseball draft. Even though he was a top pick, he spent six seasons playing in Minor League Baseball and never made it to the major leagues.

Victor Roache's Early Baseball Journey

Victor Roache was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan. He loved baseball from a young age. He even took part in a program called Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI). Victor went to Lincoln High School in Ypsilanti.

After high school, the Detroit Tigers picked him in the 2009 MLB Draft. But Victor decided not to sign with them. Instead, he chose to play college baseball for the Georgia Southern Eagles baseball team.

College Baseball Success

In 2011, Victor had an amazing season. He hit 30 home runs! This was a huge jump from the 8 home runs he hit the year before. This was especially impressive because new baseball bats were making it harder to hit home runs in college baseball.

Because of his great performance, he was named to the first team of Baseball America's College All-America Team. After the 2011 season, he played summer baseball for the Cotuit Kettleers. He was chosen as a league all-star and won an award for being an outstanding future pro player.

In December 2011, experts thought he would be one of the best college players for the upcoming season.

An Unlucky Injury

On February 25, 2012, Victor was playing in right field. He tried to make a diving catch and broke his left wrist. This injury meant he missed the rest of the 2012 season. Before his injury, he was hitting very well, with a batting average of .412, 5 RBIs, and two home runs.

Victor Roache's Professional Career

Even with his injury, the Milwaukee Brewers still believed in Victor. They picked him in the first round of the 2012 MLB Draft. He was the 28th player chosen overall.

Playing for the Brewers' Minor League Teams

Victor started his professional career on April 21, 2013. He played for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers. He spent the whole 2013 season with them. He hit 22 home runs and had 74 RBIs in 119 games.

In 2014, he played for the Brevard County Manatees. On May 4, 2014, Victor made history for the Manatees. He hit three home runs in one game! This was the first time any player for that team had done that.

In 2015, he played for both the Brevard County Manatees and the Biloxi Shuckers. He hit 18 home runs and had 71 RBIs that year. In 2016, he played for Biloxi again, but an injury limited him to only 51 games.

Moving to Other Teams

In May 2017, Victor was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers. He played for the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes for most of that season. He was released by the Dodgers in August.

In February 2018, Victor signed a contract with the St. Louis Cardinals. He played most of the season for the Springfield Cardinals. He hit 18 home runs and had 58 RBIs in 121 games. After that season, he became a free agent.

Independent League Baseball

In 2019, Victor joined the Chicago Dogs. This team is part of an independent baseball league. He had a great season, hitting 24 home runs and driving in 79 runs.

He signed with the Dogs again in 2020. He played in 58 games and hit 16 home runs. In February 2021, he was released by the team.

Life After Baseball

Victor Roache decided to retire from professional baseball in April 2021. He started working at Dick's Sporting Goods. Since then, he has become a baseball instructor and coach, helping young players learn the game.
