The Victor Sarasqueta company began a long time ago, in 1883. They quickly became known for their excellent craftsmanship. Their guns were so well-made that in 1902, the King of Spain gave them a special honor called a Royal Warrant. This meant the King officially recognized them as a trusted supplier of guns. It was a big deal and showed how respected their work was.
Changes Over Time
As years passed, the company went through some changes. In the mid-1980s, Victor Sarasqueta, which was then known as Victor Sarasqueta Rifles y Escopetas Especiales, S.A., became part of a bigger business group called DiArm. However, this larger group did not continue operating for very long and closed down within that same decade. This meant the Victor Sarasqueta brand also stopped making guns.
Other Sarasqueta Gun Makers
It's interesting to know that other gun makers with the Sarasqueta name also existed. These included Felix Sarasqueta and J.J. Sarasqueta. They were related to Victor Sarasqueta, showing a family tradition of gun making in the Eibar region.
