Victoria Mallory was an American singer and actress. She was born on September 20, 1948, and passed away on August 30, 2014. Many people remember her for playing Anne Egerman in the Broadway show A Little Night Music. She was also very good at martial arts and worked as a model.

Early Life and Learning
Victoria Mallory's parents were Ruby Mallory and Mario Morales. Her father came from the Philippines, and her mother was from Virginia. Victoria was born in Richmond, Virginia.
When she was a child, her family moved to Columbus, Georgia. She finished high school at Baker High School in 1966. Sometimes, people called her Vicki Morales, which was a shorter version of her birth name, Victoria Morales.
Victoria said she performed in 20 musicals during high school. She also played the piano and loved to dance. After high school, she went to New York City. She decided to stay there and study at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA). There, she met Kurt Peterson, who would later act with her.
Broadway Star
Victoria Mallory became famous on Broadway. She acted in three musicals by the famous composer Stephen Sondheim. In 1968, she played Maria in a new version of West Side Story.
Later, in 1971, she had a small part as Young Heidi in Follies. The show's producer, Harold Prince, created this role just for her. Victoria even got a special song called "One More Kiss."
Her biggest role was Anne Egerman in A Little Night Music from 1973 to 1974. Harold Prince hired her after she read just one line! She was the very first person chosen for that show. She also starred in Carnival! in 1968.
Victoria performed with many theater groups across the country. These included the Los Angeles Civic Light Opera and The Muny in St. Louis.
Television Roles
On television, Victoria Mallory was well-known for playing Leslie Brooks. This was a character on the popular TV show The Young and the Restless. She took over the role in 1977 and stayed until 1984.
In 1991, she also appeared briefly on the show Santa Barbara. After that, she made guest appearances on other TV shows. Some of these included Everwood, Touched by an Angel, and Promised Land.
Martial Arts Skills
Victoria Mallory was also very good at tai chi chuan, a type of martial art. She even posed for many photos in a book about martial arts. The author, Marshall Ho'o, praised her tai chi skills. He said her tai chi was "sheer perfection."
Family Life
Victoria Mallory married her A Little Night Music co-star, Mark Lambert, in 1975. They fell in love while working on the show. Victoria said they would watch Glynis Johns sing "Send in the Clowns" together every night.
Victoria and Mark had a daughter named Ramona Mallory. Ramona also became an actress, just like her parents. Ramona played Luisa in a show called The Fantasticks.
In 2009, Ramona acted in a new version of A Little Night Music. She played the role of Anne Egerman. This was the same role her mother, Victoria, had created 36 years earlier!
Passing Away
In August 2014, it was announced that Victoria Mallory was battling pancreatic cancer. She passed away on August 30, 2014. This was just 20 days before her 66th birthday.
Victoria's own mother, Ruby Morales, had passed away three weeks earlier. Ruby was 86 years old. She was buried with Victoria's father, Mario, who had been an Army musician.
