Victoria Park Place: A Landmark Building

How Victoria Park Place Was Built

Construction on Victoria Park Place started in 1979. Two companies, Danzig Enterprises Limited and Wonsch Construction, worked together to build this impressive structure. The building is made using strong materials like reinforced concrete and concrete planks.

Unique Design and Location

Victoria Park Place is easy to spot because of its special "L" shape. It stands right in downtown Windsor, at the corner of Park Street and Victoria Avenue. This spot used to be where the old Norton Palmer Hotel stood. The building takes up a whole city block and is across Pelissier Street from the Royal Windsor Terrace Condominiums.

Modern Look and Special Features

This tall building uses a modern architecture style. This means it has a lot of glass and steel in its design. On one side, you can see the elevators moving up and down. They travel along shafts that offer a clear view of the streets below, which is a cool sight!

Past and Present Uses

At one time, the ground floor of Victoria Park Place was home to a news office for CKCO-TV. This space has since been changed into a convenience store. The building also has a television transmitter for CHWI-TV-60 on its roof. This transmitter helps send the TV signal to the Windsor area.
