Viktor Grigoryevich Tsaryov (Russian: Виктор Григорьевич Царёв; born June 2, 1931 – died January 2, 2017) was a famous Russian footballer. He played as a midfielder and defender. Tsaryov spent most of his career with FC Dynamo Moscow. He also played for the Soviet Union national team.

Playing for Dynamo Moscow
Viktor Tsaryov played for FC Dynamo Moscow from 1954 to 1966. He was a very important player for the team. He played in 298 games for Dynamo Moscow. Tsaryov scored 12 goals during his time with the club.
He was also the captain of FC Dynamo Moscow for many games. In fact, he captained the team in 189 official league and cup matches. This is more than any other player in the club's history.
Playing for His Country
Tsaryov also played for the USSR national football team. He played in 12 international games between 1958 and 1963. He was part of the team that played in the 1958 FIFA World Cup. This is a huge international football tournament.
He also helped the Soviet Union win the very first European Nations' Cup in 1960. This was a big achievement for the team. The European Nations' Cup is now known as the UEFA European Championship.
Life After Playing Football
After he stopped playing football, Viktor Tsaryov became a football manager. He coached different teams, including the USSR national team as an assistant. He also worked with the USSR Under-18 team.
Later, he became the chairman of the board of directors for FC Dynamo Moscow. This shows how much he was respected at his old club. Viktor Tsaryov passed away in Moscow on January 2, 2017, at the age of 85.
