Viliami Fainga'a was born on March 27, 1988, in Australia. He is a professional rugby union player. Viliami plays for the GPS team in Brisbane. He also represents the Tonga national team. In 2016, Viliami started coaching the UQ Women's first team.

Viliami's Family & Early Life

Viliami Fainga'a was born in Queanbeyan, New South Wales. He started playing rugby league with the Queanbeyan Kangaroos. Viliami went to St. Edmund's College for his schooling.

Viliami has three brothers who are also professional rugby players. His older brothers are Anthony and Saia. They are twins! His younger brother is Colby. The Fainga'a family has roots from Tonga, England, and Italy.

Playing Rugby League

After finishing school, Viliami played rugby league. He played for the Canberra Raiders in 2007. He was part of their Jersey Flegg team. In 2008, he played for the Melbourne Storm under 20s team. He played 24 games and scored one try.

Later, he moved to Queensland. He played for the Ipswich Jets in the Queensland Cup. In 2011, Viliami decided to switch back to playing rugby union.

Playing Rugby Union

Viliami returned to rugby union in 2011. He played for the University of Queensland Rugby Club. In 2012, he joined his older brothers at GPS.

He made his first international appearance for Tonga in 2012. This big game was against the Samoa team.
