A Bit of History
The city of Villa Huidobro was named after a person named José Ruiz Huidobro. He was once the governor of the San Luis Province. During this campaign, his group had a conflict with the Ranquel chieftain, Yanquetruz, at a place called Las Acollaradas Lakes, which is near the city.
