A Look Back: History of Villaconejos
Villaconejos de Trabaque has a long and interesting history. It became the town we know today in the 16th century. Before that, it was part of a larger area called Albalate Bombarrá. This area was then split into two different villages: Albalate de las Nogueras and Villaconejos de Trabaque.
Ancient Roots
Even before the 16th century, people lived in this area a very long time ago. During the Iron Age, which was thousands of years ago, a group of people called the Olcades made their home here. They were part of the Celtiberians, ancient tribes who lived in what is now Spain. This means the land around Villaconejos de Trabaque has been home to people for a very, very long time!
