Vinu Chakravarthy (born December 15, 1945 – died April 27, 2017) was a talented Indian actor, writer, and director. He worked in many different language movies. He acted in an amazing 1000 movies! His 1000th movie was called Muni, directed by Raghava Lawrence. Vinu Chakravarthy made over 900 movies in Tamil, 50 in Malayalam, 5 in Telugu, some in Kannada, and one in the Badaga language.

Early Life and Education

Vinu Chakravarthy was born on December 15, 1945. His birthplace was Usilampatti. His parents were Adimoola Thevar and Manjuvani Ammal. He went to Wesley School in Royapettah. Later, he earned a degree in commerce. He was the oldest of his four siblings.

His Movie Career

Before becoming an actor, Vinu Chakravarthy worked as a script writer. He wrote for a famous Kannada director named Puttanna Kanagal. In 1977, a movie producer named Tiruppur Mani noticed him. Mani gave him his first acting role. This was in a Kannada film called Parasangada Gendetimma.

That movie was later made again in Tamil. After his first role, Vinu Chakravarthy went on to act in over 1,000 films! He made movies in four different languages in South India. Most of his movies, over 900, were in Tamil. He also acted in 30 Malayalam films, 5 Telugu films, and one film in the Badaga language. His last movie was Vaayai Mudi Pesavum, which came out in 2014.

Later Years

Vinu Chakravarthy passed away on April 27, 2017. He was 71 years old. He died due to an illness.
