A Look at Vok's History
Before Vok Beverages became part of Bickford's, Vok was a well-known brand of drinks. It started as a Dutch company. Many years ago, Vok drinks were brought into Australia.
The "Vok Thousand" Award
In the 1950s, Vok had a special way to promote its brand. They created an award called the "Vok Thousand." This award gave £1000 to a top cricket player. This was a lot of money back then, enough to buy a car! Len Hutton was the very first winner of this award in the 1950–51 cricket season.
Unique Bottle Shapes
The company also used the special shape of its bottles to help sell its drinks. They advertised in newspapers, telling people about their "distinctive bottle." This unique design helped people remember the Vok brand.
