Volkach is a town in Germany, located in the district of Kitzingen. It is part of the Lower Franconia region in Bavaria. The town sits right on the Main River. About 8,700 people live in Volkach.

History of Volkach
Volkach has a long and interesting history. Outside the town, you can find an old church called Maria im Weingarten
. This church was once a popular place for people to visit on a special journey called a pilgrimage.Inside the church, there is a famous statue of the Madonna. It was created by a well-known artist named Tilman Riemenschneider. The statue was stolen in 1962, but luckily, it was found and returned later.
Arts and Culture
Volkach is known for its fun traditions. Since 1949, the town has hosted an annual wine festival. This event celebrates the local wines and brings people together.
Famous People from Volkach
Many notable people have lived in Volkach:
- August von Rothmund (1831–1906) was an eye doctor and a university professor.
- Leo Kirch (1926–2011) was a big name in media. He led a large media company called the Kirch Group.
- Marlies Dumbsky (born 1985) was once crowned the German Wine Queen. This is a special title given to a young woman who represents German wine.
- Friedrich Funk (1900–1963) was a politician and a farmer. He was a member of the German parliament, called the Bundestag, from 1949 to 1963. He lived in Volkach until he passed away.
