Vondie Curtis-Hall (born September 30, 1950) is an American actor and director. He is known for playing Dr. Dennis Hancock in the TV show Chicago Hope. He also played Ben Urich in the Marvel Cinematic Universe TV series Daredevil. Vondie Curtis-Hall also wrote and directed the movie Gridlock'd.

Vondie Curtis-Hall was born in Detroit, Michigan. His mother, Angeline, was a nurse, and his father, Curtis Hall, owned a construction company.
Vondie has a brother, Kevan Hall, who is a famous designer. He also has a sister named Sherrie. All three siblings went to Presentation Our Lady of Victory grade school in Detroit. They were taught by the Oblate Sisters of Providence. This was the first and oldest Catholic group of African American religious sisters in the United States.
Vondie Curtis-Hall's Acting and Directing Career
Vondie Curtis-Hall started his career as a stage actor. He was part of the first cast of the Broadway musical Dreamgirls. He created the role of Marty, who was the first manager for James "Thunder" Early.
