Victor Manuel Pérez Rojas (born October 17, 1940 – died November 12, 2019) was an important leader in the Roman Catholic Church from Venezuela. He was known as a bishop, which is a high-ranking religious official.
His Life as a Bishop
Victor Manuel Pérez Rojas began his journey in the church when he became a priest in 1965. This was a very important step in his religious career.
Years later, in 1998, he became a bishop. His first role as a bishop was in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Calabozo, Venezuela. Here, he served as an auxiliary bishop, which means he helped the main bishop in that area.
In 2001, he took on a new role. He became the main bishop for the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Fernando de Apure, also in Venezuela. He led the church in this region until 2016.
Later Years and Passing
Bishop Pérez Rojas passed away on November 12, 2019, in Caracas, the capital city of Venezuela. He was 79 years old when he died.
His death was caused by heart problems that were related to diabetes. He had dedicated many years of his life to serving the church and its people.
