The WCW Nitro Grill was a special restaurant in the United States. It was a steak house with a fun theme: professional wrestling! The restaurant was owned by a wrestling company called World Championship Wrestling (WCW).

It opened in May 1999 inside the Excalibur Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Building this unique restaurant cost about $2 million.

What Was WCW Nitro Grill?

The WCW Nitro Grill was more than just a place to eat. It was a big dining room, about 16,000 square feet in size. This means it was large enough to seat 350 people at once!

A Unique Restaurant Experience

This restaurant was a popular spot for professional wrestlers. They would often visit when they were in Las Vegas for their shows. Fans could also come and enjoy the wrestling theme.

The Nitro Grill held special events for wrestling fans. They had weekly parties where people could watch WCW Monday Nitro and WCW Thunder live. These were popular wrestling TV shows. Sometimes, famous WCW wrestlers would even come for autograph signings! This gave fans a chance to meet their favorite stars.

Where Was It Located?

The only WCW Nitro Grill ever built was in Las Vegas. It was located inside the Excalibur Hotel and Casino. After this restaurant opened, there were ideas to build more Nitro Grills in other cities across the United States. However, these plans never happened. No other locations were ever announced or opened.

Why Did It Close?

The WCW Nitro Grill closed its doors on September 30, 2000. It was open for about a year and a half. This closing happened just six months before most of WCW's business was sold. In 2001, WCW was bought by the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), which is now known as WWE.
