Waco is a place in Yellowstone County, Montana, United States. It used to be a small town. Waco is located about 2,785 feet (849 m) above sea level.

The Story of Waco

Waco was once a busy stop on the Northern Pacific Railroad. This railroad line ran east of Billings. The town had a few places for people to stay. It also had an active post office from 1907 to 1918.

Life in Old Waco

Waco was a farming community. It was located on the south side of the Yellowstone River. The area around Waco is still used for farming today. Many ranches have grown up nearby. However, the town of Waco itself is now empty.

Waco Today: A Ghost Town

Today, Waco is known as a ghost town. This means no one lives there anymore. You can still see a few old streets that are closed off. Some buildings are also still standing. Many buildings have fallen down or been taken away. But enough remain to show what the town once looked like. You can even visit parts of it.

What About Fee?

Less than a mile east of Waco was another small community called Fee. It was also a stop on the railroad. Fee was only around for a short time. Today, nothing is left of the Fee community.
