Early Life and Family
Wajeeh uz Zaman Khan was born in 1965 in the Mansehra area of Pakistan. His family has a long history of leadership. His father, Fakhar uz Zaman Khan, was a member of the national assembly, which is like a country's parliament. Their family belongs to the Swati tribe, who used to rule the Oghi/Agror area. However, the British government took away their power in 1888.
His mother, Fauzia Fakhar uz Zaman Khan, was also a politician. She used to be a member of the Senate of Pakistan, another important part of the government. She came from a family in Lahore, Punjab.

Journey into Politics
After his father passed away, many expected Wajeeh uz Zaman Khan to follow in his footsteps and become a politician. He first went to Aitchison College in Lahore for his school education. Later, he earned two degrees from the University of the Punjab: a Bachelor of Arts and a Law degree.
He started his career as a lawyer, working with a well-known law firm called "Khan and Piracha Associates" in Islamabad.
By the mid-1990s, he became more and more involved in politics. In 1993, he ran for his first election. He was a candidate for the PK-56 Mansehra provincial seat, representing the Pakistan Muslim League-N party.
He won this election and continued to hold his seat for 22 years, which is a very long time!
Political Achievements
In 1997, when he was only 30 years old, Wajeeh uz Zaman Khan was given the role of Minister of Health. He kept his provincial seat until 2018.
In the 2013 elections, he again won as a candidate for the Pakistan Muslim League-N party. However, he later decided to leave the party. He made this choice because he felt that promised funds for his area were not being given. He believed that people voted for him expecting development work, and he wanted to make sure that happened.
Many people believe that he is the reason the Agror Valley has developed so much. He is known for his strong stand against corruption and has never been accused of it during his 25 years in politics. Wajeeh uz Zaman Khan is highly respected in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region.
