Walchwil is a lovely village and a small town (called a municipality) in the canton of Zug, Switzerland. It is located right by the beautiful Lake Zug.

History of Walchwil
Walchwil was first mentioned in old records way back in 1283. Back then, it was called Walchwile. This shows that people have lived here for a very long time!
Geography and Nature
Walchwil covers an area of about 13.5 square kilometers (5.2 square miles). A big part of this land, about 41.5%, is used for farming. Forests cover even more, about 45.5% of the area.
The town itself, with its buildings and roads, takes up about 8.2% of the land. The rest, about 4.7%, includes things like rivers or mountains that aren't used for building or farming.
Location of Walchwil
Walchwil is located on the eastern side of Lake Zug. It sits on the southern slopes of a mountain called Zugerberg, which is about 1,000 meters (3,280 feet) high. The municipality includes the main village of Walchwil and another small area called Oberdorf (also known as Emmeten).

Walchwil has a population of 3,820 people. About 29.9% of the people living here are from other countries. Over the last ten years, the number of people living in Walchwil has grown by about 7.6%.

Getting Around Walchwil
The municipality has two train stations: Walchwil and Walchwil Hörndli. Both of these stations are on the Thalwil–Arth-Goldau railway line, which connects Walchwil to other towns and cities.
