Wallace's Amazing Journey
From Rescue to Champion Dog
Wallace's life started in a tough spot. When he was just a puppy, he was saved from a place called a puppy mill. These are places where dogs are bred, often in poor conditions. After that, a police officer adopted him.
Later, in 2005, Wallace needed a new home again. He was rescued from an animal shelter in Rochester, Minnesota. At the shelter, he was at risk of being put to sleep. Luckily, he was saved and found a loving family.
Becoming a Disc Dog Star
After being rescued, Wallace found his true calling: disc dog. He quickly became a top athlete in this sport. He was so good that he became a world champion! His story showed everyone how amazing rescued dogs can be.
Sadly, Wallace was diagnosed with cancer just before his 11th birthday. He passed away a year later in August 2013.
Inspiring Others: Wallace's Legacy
Wallace became a powerful symbol for pit bull dogs. Many people have wrong ideas about this breed. Wallace helped show that pit bulls can be gentle, smart, and athletic.
His inspiring story led to the creation of an organization. This group, called WOD (Workout of the Day) for Dogs, helps other dogs through physical training. Wallace's life also became the subject of a book in 2012, written by Jim Gorant.
