Walter Thomas Bond (born February 1, 1969) is an American who used to play professional basketball. He was a shooting guard, standing 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 200 pounds. Even though no NBA team picked him in the draft, he still played in the NBA for three seasons.

Walter Bond's Basketball Journey
Walter Bond was born in Chicago, Illinois. He started his basketball journey playing for the University of Minnesota's men's basketball team. He played there from 1987 to 1991. During his time in college, he averaged about 8.1 points and 3.8 rebounds per game over 93 games.
Starting His Pro Career
After college, Walter Bond began his professional career. His first team was the Saskatchewan Storm in the World Basketball League. This was his first step into playing basketball professionally.
Playing in the NBA
Walter Bond played for a few teams in the NBA. He was with the Dallas Mavericks in the 1992-1993 season. He also played for the Utah Jazz in 1993-1994 and the Detroit Pistons in 1994-1995. In January 1995, he signed two short contracts with the Utah Jazz again.
During his NBA career, Bond played in 157 games. He scored a total of 874 points. Most of his points, 590, came from his season with the Dallas Mavericks. He scored 273 points with the Utah Jazz and 10 points with the Detroit Pistons. A big moment for him was on November 10, 1992. In only his second NBA game, he scored a career-high 25 points while playing for the Mavericks against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Besides the NBA, Walter Bond also played in the CBA. He played for five different teams in the CBA between 1991 and 1998. In 1992, he was named to the CBA All-Rookie Team, which means he was one of the best new players that year. His best season in the CBA was in 1994-1995. He scored an impressive 24 points per game for the Chicago Rockers.
He also played basketball overseas. He played in Italy for Cirio Avellino in 1998. Later, he played in Germany for TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen. In Germany, he averaged 16.4 points per game during the 1998-1999 season.
Life After Basketball
After his basketball career, Walter Bond became involved in other exciting things. He was part of the broadcast team for the Minnesota Timberwolves, helping to commentate on games. He is also a motivational speaker, sharing his experiences and inspiring others. In April 2013, he became the host of a Food Network TV show called Giving You The Business.
