Walter Walsh (born April 13, 1857 – died May 20, 1931) was a Scottish religious leader. He was also a strong supporter of peace around the world.

Growing Up and Learning
Walter Walsh was born in Dundee, Scotland, on April 13, 1857. He went to school at the High School of Dundee. Later, he studied at the University of Glasgow. In 1910, he earned a special degree called a D.D. from Pittsburgh University in the United States.
His Work and Beliefs
Walter Walsh worked as a Congregational minister. This means he was a religious leader in a type of Christian church. He served in different towns:
- Pitlochry from 1882 to 1886
- Newcastle from 1887 to 1897
- Dundee from 1897 to 1912
He also helped his community in other ways. He was a member of the Newcastle-on-Tyne School Board from 1891 to 1897. He also served on the Dundee City Council from 1906 to 1912. This shows he cared about education and local government.
In 1912, some of his religious views were not accepted by a court in Edinburgh. Because of this, he lost his church properties.
Moving to London and New Roles
In 1913, Walter Walsh moved to London, England. There, he became a minister at the Theistic Church. This church aimed to find a middle ground between different Christian ideas. In 1916, he became a leader of the Free Religious Movement.
He was very interested in helping society. He cared about:
- Pacifism: This is the belief that all violence is wrong and that disagreements should be settled peacefully.
- Education: He believed in the importance of learning for everyone.
- Housing: He worked to improve homes for people.
He attended many meetings about housing in Europe. He was also a vice-president of the Universal Peace Union. This group worked for peace worldwide. He traveled a lot, giving speeches and sermons about the international peace movement in Europe and America.
Family Life and Passing
In 1882, Walter Walsh married Alice Mary Lambert. They had a large family with four sons and five daughters. He passed away in Whetstone, London, on May 20, 1931, when he was 74 years old.
Sometimes, people confuse Walter Walsh with another person named Walter Walsh. This other Walter Walsh (1847–1912) was an English writer who also wrote about religion. However, the two men were not related.
