Wang Yeping (Chinese: 王冶坪; pinyin: Wáng Yěpíng, born on February 12, 1928) is a Chinese public figure. She is the widow of Jiang Zemin, who was a very important leader in China. He served as the General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party and the President of the People's Republic of China. Wang Yeping was born in Yangzhou, Jiangsu province.
Early Life and Education
Wang Yeping was born on February 12, 1928. She grew up in the city of Shanghai, which was then part of the Republic of China. She attended the Shanghai Foreign Language Institute. There, she focused her studies on learning foreign languages.
Family Life
Wang Yeping married Jiang Zemin in 1949. They had two sons together. Their first son, Jiang Mianheng, was born in 1951. Their second son, Jiang Miankang, was born in 1956. She also has grandchildren, including Alvin Zhicheng Jiang and Zhiyun Jiang.
Role as First Lady
As the wife of Jiang Zemin, Wang Yeping held important roles. She was the spouse of the paramount leader of China from 1989 to 2002. She also served as the Spouse of the President of China from 1993 to 2003. In these roles, she often accompanied her husband on official duties and international visits.
