A Look at Warfordsburg's Past
In December 1776, a man named Joseph Warford bought a piece of land. It was about 100 acres (0.40 square kilometers). On this land, he planned out a village. This village later became known as Warfordsburg.
Joseph Warford also built a large stone building. This building was his home. It also served as a tavern, a place where people could eat and drink. Sadly, this historic building was destroyed by a fire in 1947.
