Warragoon's Railway History

Trains played a part in Warragoon's past. In the 1930s, a railway line was built to a place called Oaklands. Because of this new line, a train station opened in Warragoon in August 1938. For a few years after 1946, people could even catch a passenger train from Warragoon. This made it easier for people to travel to other towns.
