Warwick Mohun, 2nd Baron Mohun of Okehampton (born May 25, 1620 – died 1665) was an English politician. He served in the House of Commons, which is like a part of the government where elected people make laws. Later, he became a Baron and joined the House of Lords, another part of the government for nobles.

Warwick Mohun was the son of John Mohun, 1st Baron Mohun of Okehampton and his mother, Cordelia Stanhope. Her father was Sir John Stanhope.

Early Political Life

In April 1640, Warwick Mohun was chosen to be a Member of Parliament for a place called Grampound. This happened during a short meeting of Parliament known as the Short Parliament.

Becoming a Baron

Warwick Mohun became the Baron Mohun when his father passed away on March 28, 1641. This meant he inherited his father's title and responsibilities. After this, he moved from the House of Commons to the House of Lords.

Role in the English Civil War

When the English Civil War began, Mohun left London and went back to his home in Cornwall. This war was a big fight between the King and Parliament.

Joining the Royalists

In September 1642, Mohun decided to support the King's side, known as the Royalists. He gathered a group of soldiers, called a regiment of foot, from his local area. Even though he wasn't very popular there, he still managed to raise this group.

Leaving the Army

About a year later, Mohun decided to leave his position in the army. After the war, he had to pay a fine because he had fought against Parliament. There were many discussions about how much he needed to pay, and these talks went on for a long time.

Later Life and Family

Warwick Mohun passed away sometime between April and July in 1665. He was about 45 years old.

Warwick Mohun married a woman named Catherine Welles. She was from Brember in Hampshire. Together, they had two sons and three daughters.
