A Look at Watson Township's History
The history of Watson Township includes an interesting detail about its early postal services. On April 14, 1871, a post office was opened in the western part of the township. It was first called West Watson.
Just a few months later, on October 2, 1871, the name of this post office was changed to Abronia. The Abronia post office served the community for many years. It continued to operate until June 30, 1902, when it was finally closed.
