Welcome, Washington facts for kids
Welcome is a small place, not officially a town, located in Whatcom County, in the U.S. state of Washington. It's known as an unincorporated community, which means it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town.
History of Welcome
Welcome has an interesting story behind its name! A post office, which is where people send and receive mail, was opened here in 1889. It stayed open for many years, until 1917. The community was named after John Welcome Riddle, who was an early postmaster. He used his middle name, Welcome, for the place.
