Wendy Coburn (born in 1963, died in 2015) was a talented Canadian artist. She was also a professor at the Ontario College of Art and Design University, often called OCAD U. Wendy was famous for her amazing sculptures. She was also known for her video art, especially a show called "Anatomy of a Protest" from 2014.

Wendy's Education Journey

Wendy Coburn loved learning about art. She studied at the Dundas Valley School of Art. In 1985, she earned a degree from the Ontario College of Art. Later, in 1997, she completed her master's degree (MFA) at Concordia University.

Her Artistic Work

In 2014, Wendy had her first big video art show. It was called Anatomy of a Protest. The show took place in Toronto at the Justina M. Barnicke Gallery. Many art critics liked her exhibition. It received good reviews in newspapers and art magazines.

Teaching and Impact

Wendy was a very important part of OCAD U. She helped create a special program called Art and Social Change. This program helps students understand how art can make a difference in the world.

Wendy also developed a unique course. It was called "Making Gender: LBGTQ Studio". This class helped students learn about different cultures and groups of people. Wendy's Legacy

Wendy Coburn passed away in 2015. After her death, OCAD University created a scholarship in her memory. It is called the Wendy Coburn Scholarship for Social Change. This scholarship helps students who want to use art to make positive changes in society.
