Werra facts for kids
The Werra is a cool river located in the middle of Germany. It's like a natural pathway that flows through different parts of the country.
The Werra starts its journey near a place called Fehrenbach in Thuringia. This is where the river's source is, meaning it's where the first tiny streams of water begin to flow.
The river travels for about 293 km. After this long trip, the Werra meets another river called the Fulda River in a town named Hann. Münden. When these two rivers join together, they form a brand new, bigger river called the Weser. It's like two friends meeting up to start a new adventure!
The area around the Werra is known as the Werra valley (or "Werratal"). This valley creates a natural border between two different hilly regions: the Rhön hills and the Thuringian Forest. It's a beautiful landscape where the river winds its way through.
