Wes Brisco's Wrestling Journey
Starting Out in WWE (2009–2011)
Wes Brisco began his wrestling career by signing with World Wrestling Entertainment in 2009. He trained at Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW). He had his first match on March 3, 2009, winning a special "Battle Royal" match.
Winning a Tag Team Title
In 2010, Wes teamed up with Xavier Woods. They won the Florida Tag Team Championship on November 4, 2010. They beat Johnny Curtis and Derrick Bateman to become champions. However, they had to give up their titles on December 1. This happened because Wes got injured. After his injury, Wes left WWE.
Wrestling on the Independent Scene (2011–Present)
After leaving WWE, Wes Brisco started wrestling for different companies. These companies are known as the "independent circuit." He mostly wrestled in Florida.
Early Matches and Championships
Wes debuted on the independent circuit on October 14, 2011. He teamed with Dakota Darsow to win a match at Florida Underground Wrestling (FUW). He later won the FUW Cuban Heavyweight Championship on April 24. He held this title for several months. Wes lost the Cuban Heavyweight Championship on July 7. This match was also his farewell from FUW.
Wrestling in Puerto Rico and Other Titles
Wes then went on a tour in Puerto Rico with World Wrestling Council. He won the first CWF Tag Team Championship with JD Maverick in Orlando, Florida. He also won the first NWA Ring Warriors Global Tag Team Championship with Cassidy Riley. In 2014, Wes won the NWA FUW Heavyweight Championship. He lost this title later that year.
Wrestling in Canada
Since 2016, Wes has also wrestled in Canada for Great North Wrestling. He used his "Aces of Eights" character there. On June 30, 2017, Wes won the GNW Canadian Title. He beat Rene Dupree and Hannibal in a three-way match. He lost the title back to Hannibal on August 5.
Time in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (2012–2014)
Wes Brisco first appeared in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) on October 11, 2012. He was seen backstage with Kurt Angle. He later helped Kurt Angle fight against a bad group called Aces & Eights.
Joining Aces & Eights
Kurt Angle suggested Wes try out for TNA's "Gut Check" program. Wes won his tryout match. The judges then gave him a contract with TNA. Wes teamed with Kurt Angle, Garett Bischoff, and Samoa Joe to defeat Aces & Eights at a big event called Final Resolution.
On January 31, Wes Brisco and Garett Bischoff shocked everyone. They revealed they were actually members of Aces & Eights! They attacked Kurt Angle, showing they were now "bad guys." Wes said he shouldn't have to start at the bottom because of his famous wrestling family.
Matches and Leaving the Group
At the Lockdown event on March 10, Wes defeated Kurt Angle in a steel cage match. This win happened because another Aces & Eights member helped him. On September 5, Wes and Garett Bischoff won a non-title match against the TNA World Tag Team Champions.
Later, on September 26, Wes was in a six-man tag team match. After the match, the leader of Aces & Eights, Bully Ray, told Wes he was out of the group. Wes refused to give up his group jacket. Bully Ray then attacked him. Other members took the jacket from Wes, officially removing him. TNA announced that Wes left the company on January 13, 2014.
