Wes Brisco's Wrestling Journey
Starting in WWE
Wes Brisco began his professional wrestling career in 2009. He signed a contract with World Wrestling Entertainment. He was sent to Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) to train more.
He had his first match on March 3, 2009. He won a special match called a Battle Royal. In 2010, he teamed up with Xavier Woods. They won the Florida Tag Team Championship on November 4, 2010. They beat Johnny Curtis and Derrick Bateman to win the titles.
However, on December 1, Wes got injured. Because of his injury, he and Xavier Woods had to give up their championship titles. After this, Wes was released from his contract with WWE.
Wrestling on His Own
After leaving WWE, Wes Brisco started wrestling for different companies. These are often called the "independent circuit." He wrestled mostly in Florida.
He debuted in Florida Underground Wrestling (FUW) on October 14, 2011. He teamed with Dakota Darsow and won his first match there. Wes later won the FUW Cuban Heavyweight Championship on April 24. He held this title for several months. He defended it against wrestlers like Sam Shaw. On July 7, he lost the Cuban Heavyweight Championship.
Wes also wrestled in Puerto Rico for World Wrestling Council. He won the CWF Tag Team Championship with JD Maverick. He also won the NWA Ring Warriors Global Tag Team Championship with Cassidy Riley.
On March 7, 2014, Wes won the NWA FUW Heavyweight Championship. He lost this title later that year on November 28. Since 2016, Wes has also wrestled in Canada for Great North Wrestling. He won the GNW Canadian Title on June 30, 2017.
Joining Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA)
Wes Brisco made his debut in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) on October 11, 2012. He first appeared with Kurt Angle. At a big event called Bound for Glory, Wes was part of Kurt Angle's entrance.
Wes then seemed to join Kurt Angle in fighting a bad group called Aces & Eights. Kurt Angle even suggested Wes try out for TNA's "Gut Check" program. Wes won his tryout match, becoming the first person to do so. He then earned a contract with TNA.
Wes teamed up with Kurt Angle, Garett Bischoff, and Samoa Joe. They fought against Aces & Eights in a big tag team match.
The Aces & Eights Story
On January 31, 2013, something surprising happened. Wes Brisco and Garett Bischoff revealed they were actually members of Aces & Eights! They attacked Kurt Angle, showing they were now "bad guys" (in wrestling, this is called turning heel). Wes said he felt he deserved more because of his famous wrestling family.
At a special event called Lockdown, Wes Brisco defeated Kurt Angle in a steel cage match. This was thanks to help from another Aces & Eights member.
Later, on September 26, Wes was officially removed from Aces & Eights. The group's leader, Bully Ray, told him he was out. Wes refused to give up his group jacket, so Bully Ray attacked him. Other members then took the jacket from Wes. After this, Wes left TNA in January 2014.
Wrestling in Japan
In 2014, Wes Brisco also wrestled in Japan for New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW). He challenged for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship but did not win. He also teamed up with Rob Conway to challenge for the NWA World Tag Team Championship.
