West Denton is a small community located in Caroline County, Maryland, in the United States. It's known as an "unincorporated community," which means it doesn't have its own city government. Instead, it's managed by the county. It's also a "census-designated place" (CDP), which is a special area the U.S. Census Bureau defines just for collecting population information.
As of the 2020 census, about 46 people lived in West Denton.
Where is West Denton?
West Denton is found on the west side of the Choptank River. Right across the river is Denton, which is the main town and county seat of Caroline County.
Two important roads pass through or near West Denton:
- Maryland Route 404 Business crosses the Choptank River. A bridge built in 1979 connects West Denton to Denton.
- Maryland Route 328 forms the western edge of the community.
- The Maryland Route 404 bypass, also called Shore Highway, runs along the northern edge. It crosses the Choptank River on the Governor Harry R. Hughes Bridge, which was built in 1982.
