West Portland Park is a friendly neighborhood located in the southwestern part of Portland, Oregon. It's a place where families live, kids go to school, and people enjoy outdoor spaces. This neighborhood is known for its green areas and community spirit.

Where is West Portland Park?
West Portland Park is found in the Southwest section of Portland. Its borders are SW 53rd Avenue to the west and SW 35th Avenue to the east. To the north, you'll find I-5, and to the south, it reaches SW Stephenson Street. This street marks the edge of Portland city limits.
There are a couple of small parts of the neighborhood that stretch a bit further south. One is near the end of SW 47th Avenue. The other is called the "Kerr Site," located between SW 39th Avenue and SW 37th Avenue. These areas follow the unique shape of Portland's southern border. South of SW Pomona Street, the western border changes to SW 49th Avenue.
West Portland Park shares its borders with several other neighborhoods. To the west, it's next to Crestwood and Far Southwest. To the north, you'll find Multnomah. On the east side, it borders Markham and Arnold Creek. Finally, to the south, it touches the city of Lake Oswego.
Exploring Capitol Hill
The northern part of West Portland Park has a special name: Capitol Hill. This area is home to several important community buildings. You can find the Capitol Hill Library here, which is a great place to read and learn.
Capitol Hill also has important religious centers. These include the Islamic Center of Portland and the Portland Rizwan Mosque. The mosque belongs to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. There is also the Islamic School of Portland, which helps educate young people in the community.

Education is important in West Portland Park. The neighborhood is home to two schools that serve local students.

Fun Outdoor Spaces
West Portland Park offers several public green spaces where people can enjoy nature. These areas are great for walking, exploring, and enjoying the outdoors.
- The Kerr Site: This land was bought by both the City of Portland and the City of Lake Oswego. The plan is to create walking trails here in the future.
- Loll Wildwood: This is a large natural area managed by Metro, a regional government. It's located at the very beginning of Arnold Creek. It used to be known as the West Portland Park Natural Area. It was purchased in 1995 to help protect wildlife and keep the water clean.
- Holly Farm Park: This park was finished in 2007. It was a team effort between the Parks Foundation, Portland Parks & Recreation, and the West Portland Park Neighborhood Association. It's a wonderful place for the community to gather and play.
