Interstate 5 (often called I-5) is a very long highway in the western United States. It stretches for about 1,381.29 miles (2,222.97 km). This important road connects the country from south to north.
I-5 starts at the Mexican border in California. It then travels through three states: California, Oregon, and Washington. Finally, it reaches the Canadian border. This makes I-5 the main highway along the West Coast.
