Westhoff is a small community in DeWitt County, Texas, United States. It is an unincorporated community. This means it is not officially a city or town with its own local government.
Westhoff is located in the northwestern part of DeWitt County. In the mid-1920s, about 500 people lived here. Since the 1960s, the population has been around 410 people. This number was still the same in the year 2000.
History of Westhoff
Westhoff was first known as Bello. It was established in 1906. This happened when the Galveston, Harrisburg and San Antonio Railway built its tracks through the area.
The community changed its name to Westhoff in 1909. It was named after William Westhoff. In 1913, a big fire caused damage to the town. Westhoff has had a post office since 1906.
