Westminster is a small community in Allen County, Ohio, United States. It's called an "unincorporated community" because it doesn't have its own official local government like a city or a town. Westminster is located in the western part of Auglaize Township.

You can find Westminster along State Route 117. It's just north of where State Route 117 meets State Route 196. This community is about 6.5 miles (10.5 km) north of Waynesfield. It's also about 7.5 miles (12.1 km) southeast of Lima, which is the main city and the "county seat" for Allen County. A county seat is where the county government offices are located. The upper parts of the Auglaize River flow near Westminster.

Westminster is also home to Rudolph Foods. This company is well-known for making a lot of pork rinds!

Discovering Westminster's Past

Westminster has a long history. The community was first planned out in 1834. This means someone drew up a map to divide the land into different sections and plots for homes and businesses.

Early Days: A Post Office for Westminster

A post office was opened in Westminster in 1837. This was an important place for people to send and receive letters and packages. The post office served the community for many years. It finally closed down in 1944.
