History of Whitcomb
Long ago, Whitcomb had a different name: Union. In 1816, a person named Ebenezer Howe planned out the area. This means he drew up maps showing where streets and lots would be. This process is called "platting."
A post office opened in Whitcomb in 1846. People could send and receive mail there. It stayed open for many years but closed down in 1906.
