How White Creek Got Its Name

The community of White Creek was started in 1853. A person named Seth Thompson founded it. He first called the area "Cascade."

In August 1855, Seth Thompson opened a post office in the community. At that time, he decided to change the name. He renamed it White Creek. The new name came from the way the local creek looked. It had white foam on its surface, which made it appear white.
