The Story of White Fang 2

A New Adventure Begins

The story starts when Jack Conroy leaves his loyal wolfdog, White Fang, with his friend Henry Casey. Henry and White Fang quickly become good friends. One day, they are sailing to sell their gold when a storm hits. They end up shipwrecked on a strange shore.

Meanwhile, a Native American chief named Moses Joseph has an important dream. He dreams about White Fang and his niece, Lily. Moses believes Lily will find a special wolf who can help save their hungry tribe. Lily goes to the river and hears White Fang barking. She finds White Fang, but then he disappears, and Henry appears in his place. Lily thinks the wolf turned into Henry! She rescues Henry and takes him to her village.

Finding the Wolf Spirit

Moses tells Henry that he is the wolf from the dream. Henry laughs and says the wolf is his friend, White Fang. Back at the river, White Fang has saved himself. He travels through the wild to find Henry. White Fang meets a wolf pack but decides not to join them. He continues his journey alone.

Henry returns to town and sees many hungry people. Reverend Leland Drury explains that the town is in a bad state. The same day, White Fang spots Lily's village. Lily sees him and calls her uncle, Moses. She shows him the real wolf she saw by the river. White Fang gets scared and runs away when Moses tries to get closer.

Henry's Journey with the Tribe

The next day, Henry decides to go back to the village. He gives Lily a beautiful white shawl as a gift. White Fang, hiding nearby, sees the wolf pack again. A female wolf comes to play with him. That night, Henry hears White Fang howling from the forest. Henry runs out, calling for White Fang. He finds a wolf, but it's not White Fang! This new wolf almost attacks Henry.

Suddenly, White Fang appears and protects Henry. Henry asks White Fang to come to the village. White Fang hesitates because of his new female wolf friend. Henry understands, but White Fang decides to go with Henry anyway. That night, Henry has a dream similar to Moses's dream, but this time Henry is in it too.

Moses gives Henry a bow and arrows. He sends Henry to the forest to practice hunting. Henry's first shot misses, but then another arrow hits the target perfectly. Lily reveals herself as the mystery archer. She teaches Henry how to use the bow accurately.

Hunting for Survival

Peter, Moses's son, and Henry practice hunting together. Henry likes Lily and asks Peter how to impress her. Peter jokes that Lily would probably break his nose if he tried to lean on her shoulder!

Moses allows Peter to hunt with Henry. Lily's aunt worries about the hunt. Moses tells her that one of the men might not return. Lily wants to join Henry, but Moses says women do not hunt.

Henry, White Fang, and Peter go into the forest. Lily secretly follows them with her bow. Henry and Peter find the bodies of hunters who never returned. Henry almost gets caught in a trap. Peter goes to check a body and is suddenly shot at. He tells Henry to find the caribou and runs to distract a gunman.

Henry and White Fang escape, but Henry's leg gets caught in a snare trap. He hangs in the air. A man in a hunting blind tries to kill him. Lily saves Henry by shooting a fiery arrow. The arrow destroys the blind, and the man runs away. Lily frees Henry from the trap, and they continue their journey.

Stopping the Villain

When they reach the hunting grounds, they find a large wall blocking the caribou herd. They go to find out who built the wall. They fall into a hole, which leads to a big gold mine. They discover that Reverend Drury is behind the blockade. He is running an illegal mining operation.

Henry and Lily decide to steal dynamite to clear the path. Henry sees Reverend Drury threatening a Native American miner. Henry confronts Drury, who offers him money to leave. Henry refuses and shoots Drury in the arm. Henry and Lily run to escape the mine. Henry climbs out of an airshaft, but Drury's men capture Lily.

White Fang defends Henry from the miners while Henry sets the dynamite. The explosion clears the path for the caribou. Meanwhile, Reverend Drury loads his gold and a tied-up Lily onto a wagon. He tries to escape. Henry and White Fang chase the wagon through the forest to save Lily.

The Final Showdown

As the wagon speeds near a cliff, White Fang and Henry jump onto it. White Fang attacks Reverend Drury, and they both fall down the cliffside. Henry tries to grab the reins but cannot. He frees Lily from her ropes. A screw on the carriage comes loose, and the wagon races towards the cliff. Henry and Lily jump off just before it goes over.

Reverend Drury climbs back up to see his gold wagon crashing down the cliff. He runs towards it, but then a stampede of caribou barrels towards him. He is trampled by the caribou and dies.

Henry and Lily find a wounded White Fang. They bring him back to the village. Moses and Katrin are happy Lily is safe but sad about Peter's loss. White Fang later recovers from his injuries.

A Happy Ending

Some time later, Lily gives Henry back his gold, which she found in his boat's remains. She says Henry can leave, even though he wants to stay with her. As Henry prepares to leave, the village thanks him for saving them from hunger. Just as he is about to go, Lily runs to him, wearing the white shawl he gave her. She says "she chooses" him, and they hug. White Fang's mate, the female wolf, comes out of the trees and joins him.

Three months later, White Fang and the female wolf have a litter of adorable pups. Henry and Lily visit their den and are greeted warmly by the new wolf family.
