Whitehall, California facts for kids
Whitehall was once a small community in Mendocino County, California. It's no longer a populated place today.
What Was Whitehall?
Whitehall was located about 4 miles (6.4 km) northwest of another place called Hermitage. Even though it was a small settlement, it had its own post office for a short time.
The Post Office at Whitehall
Having a post office was a big deal for a small community back then. It meant people could send and receive letters and packages. The post office in Whitehall was open from 1875 to 1876. After that, it closed down, and the community eventually became a "former settlement," meaning people no longer live there.
