Whitehall is a small place in Indiana, a state in the United States. It's called an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and buildings that don't have their own official town government. Instead, it's part of a larger area called Clay Township in Owen County.

Whitehall's Story: A Look Back

Whitehall was first planned out in 1838 by a person named James Brown. He named this new community after a town he knew from his home state of North Carolina. A post office, where people could send and receive mail, was opened in Whitehall in 1848. It stayed open for many years but eventually closed down in 1907.
