Whitesburg is a small, quiet community located in eastern Hamblen County, Tennessee. It's a rural area, meaning it has lots of open spaces and a peaceful feel. You can find Whitesburg right along U.S. Route 11E, which is also known as the Andrew Johnson Highway.
Whitesburg is surrounded by other towns. To its west is Russellville, and to its east is Bulls Gap. Even though it's a small place, Whitesburg has its own post office and two schools that are part of the Hamblen County school system.

Reece Shipley
Reece Shipley (1921–1998) was an American country musician. He was known for his music and contributed to the country music scene.
Edward R. Talley
Edward R. Talley was a brave soldier who received the Medal of Honor for his actions during World War I. He was born in Russellville, Tennessee, in 1890.
Talley joined the United States Army from Russellville. He was sent to France, where he showed incredible courage. On October 7, 1918, near Ponchaux, France, he acted heroically. He was a Sergeant in Company L, 117th Infantry, 30th Division. For his bravery, he was awarded the Medal of Honor, which is the highest military award for valor.
Edward R. Talley passed away on December 14, 1950. He is buried at Bent Creek Cemetery in Whitesburg, Tennessee.
