wikiHow is a special website that works like a wiki. This means many people can help write and edit its content. It has a huge collection of articles that teach you "how to do" all sorts of things.
The website uses a software called MediaWiki, which is the same software that powers Wikipedia. wikiHow's main goal is to build the biggest collection of helpful "how-to" guides in the world. In May 2011, about 36 million different people visited wikiHow. By June 2014, more than 904,000 people had signed up as registered users on the site.
How wikiHow Started
wikiHow was created by Jack Herrick and Josh Hannah. They started the website in January 2005. On April 28, 2006, wikiHow officially launched on its own website address, www.wikihow.com.
