Wild Island is a super fun water park located in Sparks, Nevada. It's right off I-80, making it easy to find. This park is the only one in the area, so it's a special spot for splashing and playing!

Wild Island first opened its doors in June 1989. It started small with just five rides and two pools. Over the years, it has grown a lot, adding many more exciting attractions. The park is usually open from late May to late September. This gives visitors one of the longest water park seasons on the West Coast! In the summer of 2013, over 200,000 people visited the park.

Awesome Water Park Rides

Current Water Slides

Wild Island has ten different water slides. They are spread out across four cool slide towers. Each tower has its own special theme! You reach all slides by stairs. Each ride also has the right tube or mat for you to use.

Family Fun Slides

These slides are the gentlest ones, perfect for a fun family ride.

  • Tortuga - This is the longest slide in the park! It's a pipeline slide where two people can start at the same time.
  • Fire - A twisty slide that flashes red and white colors as you go down.
  • Ice - Another twisty slide, half of it is covered and half is open to the sky.

Thrilling Speed Slides

Get ready for some speed! These slides are named after speedy, venomous animals.

  • Black Widow - A pipeline slide that looks like a spider's leg.
  • Red Viper - This is a super tall, five-story freefall slide!
  • Scorpion - A cool half-pipe ride that swings you back and forth.

Dragon's Lair Slides

These slides are themed like creatures from medieval stories.

  • Eye Of the Dragon (Toilet Bowl) - This ride spins you around in a big bowl before you drop out! Many local visitors call it the "Toilet Bowl."
  • Dragon's Tail - A twisty slide that winds around the Eye of the Dragon ride.

Racing Slides

This is the newest slide tower, opened in 2012.

  • Zulu Racer - A four-lane racing slide! You can race your friends to see who gets to the bottom first.
  • G-Force - A thrilling capsule slide where the floor drops out from under you!

Water Park Pools

Wild Island has four different pools. All of these pools are cleaned using special UV light. This means they need very little chlorine to stay sparkling clean. Wild Island was actually the first outdoor water park in North America to use this UV cleaning system for all its pools!
